Bethesda Set Up MMO Support Centre

Matt Firor, the president of ZeniMax Online Studios (which owns Bethesda), has made an official statement today saying they will be setting up a customer support centre in Galway, Ireland. The centre will support players with future MMO games and will create a lot of new jobs in Ireland over the next few years.  Stop right there.  Since when did Bethesda make MMO (massively multiplayer online) games?

“Today’s announcement marks an important step for us” said Matt Firor, who also said “we are excited to be building an experienced team which will focus on providing customer support for our games.”

Bethesda, which is owned by ZeniMax Online Studios, has recently been reported to be working on a new MMO game which is supposedly Elder Scrolls themed, but we still have not got a confirmation on this.

This announcement only adds to the suspicion of the recent reports and with this now announced you can more then likely be expecting another announcement soon. But what do you think they are working on?

Well they were supposed to be working on a Fallout MMO as interplay/black isle never got around to producing anything for a while, however I think they eventually got that back so now Bethesda aren’t making it anymore. However doesn’t mean that Bethesda/Zenimax aren’t publishing it. They don’t have to be making the game just publishing it. Alternatively if it isn’t the Fallout MMO, I imagine whatever resources they started creating for the Fallout MMO have been transferred to some form of Elder Scrolls one, although Elder Scrolls has always really been a single player experience for a reason so again an unlikely prospect.

A new IP instead? Or even a Star Trek one as they have been making Star Trek games for a while now.

MMO will not work well in the very near future. I belive the trending of game will be browser based.
