Scotland-based indie game developer Secret Lunch have announced their first game, Shu will be available on PC in 2013.
Shu is a 2.5D platforming game with colourful characters that evoke memories of Paper Mario in style – which clearly isn’t a bad thing.
You’ll link-up and take this trail of characters around an ancient mountain, climbing ever upwards in their attempts to escape a pursuing monstrous and unrelenting storm. Naturally there’s obstacles and hazards in the way, so you’ll have to run, jump and glide your way through to reach the top.
On your way you’ll face moral dilemmas as you cross paths with fellow villagers who have become lost or stuck on their way to salvation from the storm. It’s up to you if you leave them to their fate, however, rescuing them leaves you vulnerable to the encroaching storm.
Secret Lunch may be new names in the indi developer scene, having been founded in 2012 by Masters graduates from University of Abertay, Dundee. But they’ve got experience across a variety of platforms such as Xbox Live, mobile, browser and Windows 8, and they’ve even worked with companies such as Sony London Studio and Microsoft.
