Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Return In Activision Deal

It looks like those sewer dwelling reptillian heroes are back and heading onto consoles once more.

Activision have announced that they’ve agreed to a multi-year deal with Nickelodeon to produce three games based on the heroes in a half shell.

It means that the first title in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IP will be released this summer.

Seeing as it’s based on the new TV series and not the far superior older one – although we have no right to say that as we’ve not seen the new version at all – we’ll see Leo, Donnie, Raph and Mikey grace consoles everywhere.

“The fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are unique in that they span generations and are very passionate,” Activision Publishing VP Kurt Niederloh stated. “We respect this passion and look forward to working with Nickelodeon to create games that embody the spirit of the property.”

Nickelodeon’s consumer products senior VP Sherice Torres chimed in with  “Activision is a leader in the gaming industry and we are honored to have them as the global video game partner for our new hit series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We are confident that these upcoming games will take gamers through interactive environments and action-packed adventures that truly capture the essence, tone and exciting elements of the Turtles.”

The deal means that it looks like the Turtles are here to stay once more.
