Clarification Update – “Corsair Does a 180 – Axes New Logo”

UPDATE: Since this article was published a Corsair representative has been in contact to clarify the meaning behind this announcement. The new Corsair Gaming logo is, in fact, not being pulled. Instead, the company has agreed to continue to manufacture and sell a number of the products in question (K70 RGB, K95 RGB and M65 RGB) while retaining the original ‘Sails’ logo.

They will also go on to sell versions of these products with the new ‘Corsair Gaming’ logo once thought to have been pulled. Future products in the line will go on to use the new design.

A full explanation can be viewed here. Apologies for the misunderstanding!

When Corsair unveiling their new RGB gaming hardware and newly formed re-branding, fans became rather upset by seeing their professional-looking gear reduced to generic-looking PC peripherals. They lobbied together in the form of a petition and Corsair have today announced that they will retract the logo change in favor of their classic ‘Ship & Sails’ design.

News broke on their social media channels this afternoon with Corsair representatives announcing a quick turn-around in the decision saying the newly released K70 RGB keyboards are already available with the classic look at popular online store Newegg should consumes look for the mentioned model number. Those looking for the full details can read on below:

We hear You.

As many of you know we launched our new Corsair Gaming line of peripherals this week. We’ve received a ton of feedback on the products and new logo. We are amazed and humbled by the passion our customers have for the original Corsair sails logo. The ship + sails are here to stay and will continue to be used on all Corsair PC component products.

However, we know many of you prefer the classic logo on our keyboards, and you’ve made your voices heard. For those of you looking for the new K70 RGB with the original sails logo, it’s currently available in North America from Newegg – just look for the SKU CH-9000063-NA. What’s more, as a direct result of your feedback, we will continue to sell and manufacture the Vengeance K70 and Vengeance K70 RGB with Cherry MX Red switches, with the sails logo, via select retailers and Corsair.com.

Let’s keep talking!

Corsair is only continuing to sell their original Vengeance K70 RGB with red switches. All other products are going to have the Corsair gaming logo. The logo hasn’t been axed, and nothing has changed.
